Transport Manager CPC - Road Haulage

The Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) – Road Haulage is a Level 3 qualification and a legal requirement for anyone wishing to be named as a Transport Manager on a Standard Operator’s Licence. This course is held in our Training Centre in Linwood, near Paisley.

Description

This qualification demonstrates that you have the professional knowledge and competence required to manage a road haulage operation safely, legally, and efficiently, in line with Regulation (EC) No. 1071/2009 and Traffic Commissioner expectations.

Our course is delivered in person at our training centre, led by experienced industry professionals who bring real-world insight into every session—helping you apply your learning directly to practical transport scenarios.

Assessment

To achieve the CPC qualification, learners must pass two examinations:

1. Multiple Choice Exam

  • 60 questions
  • 120 minutes duration
  • Closed book
  • Pass mark: 42/60

2. Case Study Exam

  • Scenario-based written assessment
  • 135 minutes duration
  • Open book
  • Pass mark: 30/60

Both assessments are designed to test your understanding of the full syllabus and your ability to apply knowledge in real-world transport scenarios.

Prerequisites

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, to give yourself the best chance of success, we recommend:

  • A good standard of English and Mathematics (Level 2 or equivalent)
  • An interest in transport, logistics, or fleet operations
